Been testing nature test for about an hour now at 7000/639...holy sss****@@@ VPY is only uo ro 23c!

here are some quick pics,,not nice ones, I was in to big of a hurry to install it. He saod Nature is the best to tes it out at first...most stress on the card guess I assume.

That is sick. Altho the heatsinks seem big, with a a low fin density. :/

Actually the are spaced far apart..then do not get hot at all, and the little fans keep them very cool. I thougt is was going to weigh a ton...it raeally weighs not much more the stock. It is cooled with a tec. And yes, I meant 700 ;)

The card had a TEC and a .250" thick cold plate which moved the water tubes futher away
from the PCB. I still had to trims the fins on the front top heatsink about .125" shorter. For
straight WC the PolarFlo WB allows full height SuperSinks as the water tubes can be configured
to come out of the top of the WB as well as the side.

A set of SuperSinks has 42 square inches of fin area per set.

23c full load, is that an 80w tec?

edit, could we have a close up of the voltmods, those look incredibly compact!

could we have a close up of the voltmods, those look incredibly compact! ViperJohns work is awesome. He has done the mods so many times that he can do it so it is asthetically pleasing, i mean it looks like it came from the factory that way. It pays to have him do the labor instead of just having him send you the parts. I can't wait to ship mine out. I just can't believe the numbers he is able to acheive on air cooling...We are all jealous WA2

At this time only for the Ultra's and do not tell the ATI gods lol. The GT only have a single Aux
Power Port and are missing some of the other Vcore PS components so the increased current
draw that comes with increased vcore causes problems.

Remember to get the good number you still need a good card to begin with. Not even LN2 cooling
can turn a POS card into a real winner...just a much faster POS.

No the memory is air cooled. The GPU is a WC'ed TEC.

WA2 - did you end up settling for an 80W TEC, or did you go for a 172 Watter? Is the peltier on 12V, or are you using a dedicated 16V/24V PSU?

Your temperatures are looking really good for that kind of overclock regardless, what is the card's watercooling circuit comprised of? What kind of overvoltages are you sitting at?

Sorry for all the questions! ;)

Thats a really nice setup, I'll bet you're *quite* happy with it :)

ViperJohn - do you sell those mighty looking air-cooled supersinks by themselves?

The card is using DD's over rated, 16.2V, 80W TEC on 12 volts. That TEC works out to about
43 watts Qmax at 12 volts. I have 15.2, 85w, under rated TEC's that would give a Qmax of
about 57 watts at 12 volts.

The voltages the card was sent back with after testing with my Turbo Magnum were 1.650
Vcore at the Windows Desktop (about 1.610-1.615 loaded in Nature), 2.120 Vdd and 2.175 Vddq.

Yes the SuperSinks are available separately as are all my kit components. Shoot an email to

That actally clears a lot up; I've always been sketchy on the Danger Den "80W/16V" pelt, and under the impression that it worked at about ~55W QMax on 12V.

Thanks for the info! :)

I errored when I gave the DD Vmax at 16.2 as it is 16.1 volts. I think you forgot your watts law
and forgot I^2 x R. You can get the approx Qmax at any applied voltage from any TEC as follows.
It isn't perfect as there are a boat load of efficiency variables but it gets you close.

Rated Vmax x Rated Imax x .60 = Qmax of the TEC at rated maximums.

To get Qmax rating at voltages lower than Vmax do the following;

((Applied Voltage / Rated Vmax) ^ 2) x Qmax = Qmax at Applied Voltage

Using the above to find the Qmax of the DD 80W TEC at 12 volts it works out like this;

16.1 x 8 x .60 = 77.28 Watts Qmax approx at max ratings

so

(12.0 / 16.1) = .7453

.7453 Squared = .5555

.5555 x 77.28 = 42.93 watts Qmax at 12 volts approx
