The system specs are listed below. Idle temps are 46-48 Load temps are 51-54. I have ordered better cooling and its on the way. I guess my glaciator and 3 80mm 32 CFM fans aren't cutting it. But I still don't think my machine should completely freeze and lockup whenever I run 3dmark 2001 or The longest journey. It will run for a few minutes great then just freeze. Anyone know why?
Sidebanding and fast writes off? They both cause mine to do exactly the same thing.

Thanks Ill give that a try.
I ran into the exact same problem with 3D Mark2001, last night as a matter of fact. Sidebanding and fast write are both disabled in my box. 3D Mark2001 would load up and run the low detail car chase demo, then it always hangs when it tries to do the next demo. I found out it's the leaked Detonator 14.70 drivers that I'm using that causes the problem. The minute I went back to using Detonator 6.50 (yeah I know it's 2 versions old) the problem went away. I have a Guillemot GF2 MX card.
Try the 12.90s.
Best one's I've used so far. 14.X series are known to be buggy and slow, as well, when they do work.
I tried the 12.9, but the the registry hack to enable core and memory overclocking doesn't work with the 12.9 detonator. In version 6.50 I set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Nvidia Corp/Global/NVTweak/CoolBits to 3 which turned on Hardware option in the display panel. This allows you to set Core and Mem clock. The thing is 14.70 gives back the overclock hack, but unstable. Do you know how to enable the overclock feature with 12.9 without using a 3rd party tool?

I had that problem too , my agp slots couldnt handle the high fsb , I thought , all I had to do was change the prcharge DDR command to 2t and its been fine every since , my gf2 mx doesnt like high fsb though , I know this for a fact, try this and see if it helps.
