View Full Version : Help please with a NVidia GeForce2 MX PCI HSF
Well, the subject states it pretty well. I have about 3-4 inches for clearance on the video card, and I need to replace the stock HS (no fan!!!) as it's just burning up. Budget is a bit limited, and I'm forced to run caseless for the time being.
Thanks for the help!

why no fan? I have this same card and I use a Vantec chipset cooler fan on the stock heatsink. I use the stock one cause I am not brave enough to freeze the old one off.
I'm not sure why they don't include a HSF for this card, as it gets blazing hot with just standard use (read windows only open).
As far as blorb, I'm guessing you are saying blue orb? I've never used them. THough I am new to the PC cooling scene. Would it fit?

I have replaced many GF2 stock HSF with the Blue orb. The only thing that didn't fit was the power connector. On a couple of them I cut off the stock fan power connector and spliced it to the BLorb, and on the others I used extensions and ran it off the mobo.
Well, I'll have to check out that blue orb, then. Thanks for the advice, gents (and ladies, as I don't doubt you are out there.)
seems to work good, card is only just warm to touch, mite even have lowered my mobo temp 1 deg C if thats possible but its the loudest whiny fan in my rig. not real bad but a little annoying
