My cousin's laptop was damaged by a lightning bolt that hit the network at Notre Dame a month ago and they had a new motherboard and the ram replaced.
The hard drive was fine and all software works. When they try to send a document to the printer. They get a blank page.

They replaced the cartridges, used a different cable, reinstalled the printer drivers, but they still get a blank page.

When printing a test page, they get graphics but no text. Also, tried to print from Notepad or Wordpad and DOS and still the page is blank.

Maybe the black ink print head got fried by the lightning strike, but the color graphics seem to print fine.

For now they are going to try it on there home computer and see if that works. Is it possible a file got corrupted on the os? It cannot be the printer drivers because they already reinstalled those. Or you guys think the printer is messed up, because i am assuming it was all plugged in when the lightening hit?

Ever heard of this?

try a format and reinstall, if not i would say the port is damaged somehow on the printer..if the printer got hit the ink could be bad, i dont know really, could be many things.
