View Full Version : SK6 or MC462? Throwing out my GOrb3
I'm planning to use the SK6 with a 80mm Delta, custom made velocity stack, at full tilt or a MC462 with the same fan. SK6 seems to have tested better but how is it in the real world? Anyone using BIG,80mm-120mm,fans with stacks?

No stacks, but I do have a high-output 80mm fan on my swifty and I now swear by them. I did alot of research on these 2 heatsinks and I found the Swifty to be the better buy for serious cooling.
TranceBear - can you still get one like we talked about?

The Swiftech for sure. But for the price - the SK6 is an excellent performer. I don't buy the HSF reviews that show the ThermalRight beating the MC462. I have identical machines - Epox 8K7A with 1.2 MP Palomino's - same cases, same internal fans, same everything except the HSF - and overclocked exactly the same. I find the MC462 being about 4c cooler than the SK6 running identical Seti WU's.
OK! I'm convinced. Will it fit my ABIT KT7A-RAID? Thats the only thing thats not sure.

Will the MC462A fit the KT7A-Raid? Yes. I have two ABIT rigs set up with the Swiftech.
All I need now is a $150 to get it delivered to my house!:D :(

Never a bother, glad to help ya!!
Looks like I'm gonna be putting off the purchase of the Swifty for a couple of days 'cause I heard that we "might" get a KG7-RAID here soon. Maybe shift to DDR system if I can get some cash for the upgrade. What would you guys suggest for a cpu, 1.33 or the 1.4? Can't choose stepping so it's kinda a gamble.

my pick would be a 1.33 cause of the ease of use and better chances of getting a good stepping.
