How well can the BH-5's perform at 2.9 vdimm?

I am thinking about getting the Kingston HyperX pc3200 BH-5s and I am just wondering how well can they perform at 2.9 vdimm? The maximum voltage my mobo can give me is 2.9. Can they do 250x10 1:1 @ 2.9? or even 250 2-2-2-5? I am not planning doing any kind of voltage mod unless they are hell easy to do

i would say that yeah should do 225-235@2-2-2-5, at 2.9vdimm. im not saying the possiblity isnt there, but i personally have never seen any do [email protected]:(

usually 3.1vdimm is a minumum for 250, and around 3.2-3.3v is the average i think.

Im in the same boat as you with the RAM. My board's max VDimm is 2.9V. Ive only been able to get up to 227FSB (1:1) @ 2-2-2-5. I could probably get it higher, but my 2500+ is locked in at the 11x multiplier. If I was able to get to 10.5x or 10x, I bet I could squeeze some more out of it.

224 2-2-2 is the highest I got at 2.85v out of mine. I know that some can do about 250 4-4-3 with that low voltage, but that just sorta defeats the purpose of BH5. Low speed/low latency is much better.

I used to run mine at only 210, though, before I vmodded my board. It still performed pretty damn well. Mid 24k 3dmark01, 35sec superpi, etc. Still great stuff.

at 2.82V I got around 220 at 2.2.2.6 for dual channel. and 226 for single channel, and at 3.3 2.2.2.6 I got around 255 for single channel. and never pass 247 for dual channel. (IC7-G Vdim mod, no Vtt mod: Vtt 1.4V max)

I never try at 2.9V!

No chance of meeting your 1:1 goals with 2.9V. Better bring 3.2V at least, and it may still not make it to 250.

The upside is you simply don't have to run BH5 that fast. My rig runs it at only 400MHz, but my memory performance is extremely good. I would recommend some TCCD based stuff considering your aspirations.

on my NF7 i was only able to do 217 with 2-2-2-11 timings..... the BH-5 only begins to shine at 2.9v.... you need to get up into the threes to really see this ram do it's thing. this was with a gig of BH-5.

How about if I set memory to 166 and doing 255x10 and running the memory at around 213 2-2-2-5? Is this a good performance increase over my current memory timings??

hm-my new ocz pc3200 performance rev.3 wasnt able@ 2,9 vdimm to get 2-2-2-11 stable@200 mhz...

atm its running fine with 3,3 vdimm 2-2-2-11 @ 248 fsb(memteststable-prime stable up to 236 cpc enabled dualchannel with another bh-5 kingston...both 512 mb dimms)

first i didnt even think about the possibility, that the new ram i got out of rma was bh-5...

I got my 512x2 Mushkin lvl2 PC3500 up to 232mhz @ 2-2-2-7 @ 2.9v, cpc off
I'm still testing to see if I can get that 7 down.

Note that this is rock solid stable. I've gotten it up to 235mhz with prime95 failing in about 5 hours, no other problems besides that.

Your mobo and bios make a huge difference. Before I switched to a modded bios I was barely able to get stock @ 2.8v

I had the same ram in my sig on a nf7 which had max 2.9vdimm.. I was at about 220mhz.. now with my dfi and 3.3vdimm.. Im up to about 244mhz dual channel memtest error free for about 8-9 hours..

Its amazing how much more bh5 flies with some juice.. :)

Hmm then I might be considering doing some vdimm mod from now..because I want these things to hit at least 245 at good timings.

EDIT: nvm..I am not going to do any volt mods..I read over them and saw all these things I need..wow confused me a little..heh I guess I will try to do 2-2-2-5 at 2.9..at 208
