Ive just got a AXIA K Athlon to replace my Duron and messed up the L1 bridges which currently limits my overclock, I was wondering if anyone knew a way to remove defogger paint.
Solvent.
What solvent?
Paint remover?
Maybe finger nail polish remover?

see if you can't get a little container of laquer thinner from hardware store that sells paints etc . That's the strongest solvent I've ever used. Be carefull with it though, limit skin exposure as much as possible (none is best) and don't expose it to plastics it MELTS them (like ultrahard polycarbonate). Also try and use it outside if possible, or ventilate.

I'd say try to chip as much of it off as possible and then use solvent, so that you're not using very much to get it clean....
This is why I use pencil. :) Never had trouble with my penciled bridges, either on my Athlon or my Duron.

Doesn't acetone work if you wipe it off pretty fast?

Better yet, I got some on my chip awhile back and I used the tip of a sewing needle to lightly scrap it off. I was very careful and I used a Jewelers monocle to look better to see what I was doing.

Acetone works like a charm. I've used it to remove defogger paint. No prob's in that.

Thanx for all the advice guys
Well i fixed it with a combination of things.
I used nail varnish remover to loosen things up a little
and rubbed gently on the bridges with a old scouring pad ( those things that are used to clean dishes and saucepans, brillo pad is the trade name of what I used ).
Using this technique it is possible to remove all traces of defogger paint from the bridges, if the ceramic starts to scratch up, then the pad is too abrasive and you need a less abrasive one. I would suggest testing it on an old CPU or the corner of your CPU before attempting to clean the bridges.
I suppose a better suggestion would be not to mess up the bridges, and if you do don't let it dry :D
