Of course I'm talking about fans!!! I have a cooling cube and I just got a 120mm fan for it. I was wondering how I should position the fan, to pull air through the cooling cube or to push air through the cooling cube. I have heard several things, but I want to know which actually performs better. I have the YS Tech that is supposed to be 132cfm. Just looking to cool the cube more. Thanks.

Well I never had the cooling cube. But when I was running my watercooling setup, I sucked the air thru my radiator. I got better results that way. I've read of many people getting better results sucking air thru as opposed to blowing air thru them. Best bet is to set it all up and give it a whirl. One thing to remember your results will vary compared to the next guy.

The raidator the is sold in the Maze combos. Sorry for the ambiguity.

Try it both ways - check your temps with it sucking, then reverse the flow and check the temps again. Put it the way that gave you the best temp. bdf is correct in stating that people will reply both ways. The best way to know - is to experiment - then post back your results.

Good Luck.

Portorock,

I would recommend the fans suck air through the radiator this way has the least resistance to flow. When fans blow onto the rad the turbulent air from the fan’s output creates a greater resistance to air flow. What I did was to ‘sandwich’ the rad between two sets of fans. The sucking fans (four 80mm!) are lower output, while the blowing fans (four 80mm again!) are higher output with speed control. For me the fan sandwich works good my Duron 800 @ 1066,1.95Volts cpu temps are 35C idle 40C load, with a room temp of 25C. The noise is also less because the higher output/noisier fans are inside my case and the quieter Panaflo L are on the outside. Home this helps. BTW I use a 6” x 7” heater core as a rad.

i would put a fan on either side, one blowing one sucking. that is if i had and cooling cube and two fan to do that...
