Jumpstart Psu?

Hi just got a question about my PSU. I want to test my WC without turning on my PC, so how do I do that? THANKS:cool:

Short the green wire (pin 14) to ground (any black wire, such as those on pins 13 and 15 next to it). The PSU should run as long as the short is kept in place, but some PSUs also need a load on the +5V rail, which a hard drive should be able to provide. But if it doesn't work, a resistor rated for around 5-10 ohms and at least 10 watts and connect it between any red and black wires. A 5 ohm, 10W resistor will run very hot but will still be safe.
