Cluster Size

I have a total of 480GB and there is no way I am ever going to use that much space (dont ask why I have it though) so I'm considering using space to increase performance. I've always been sure that the larger the clusters the more space is used, but the faster each piece of data is used or found. So if I use 64kb clusters, I lose lots of space with little files, but performance would be up a little correct?

for benchmarking, a lower cluster size is best. For real world performance improvements use 32k or 64k.
