A 1 GHz/266 Athlon has a 7.5x multiplier, and is meant to run at 133 MHz FSB. My first guess would be that it's set to 100 MHz FSB, giving you 750 MHz.
EDIT: I misread, thought you said KT7A.. if it's a KT7, then it's definitely 100 MHz FSB. Sounds like you put an Athlon "C" on it.
To elaborate on the above post by "Would71", the KT7 uses the original KT133 chipset and is generally limited to 107/ 110MHz on the FSB. That being said, you can still achieve acceptable performance from it by way of the multipliers. I've got the same situation with an AXIA-266 chip on an A7V. Unlock your L1 bridges and increase the multiplier. I've gotten to 1.4G with mine.
Good Luck!

Frank's got it... unlock those bridges and raise the multiplier.

You should theoretically be able to hit around 1400. Doesn't the abit bios only go up to 12.5x multiplier? I can't remember it's been so long since I've seen my computer.
