Im going away for a while, but need to know a way to restart my computer maybe once a day. Being on a dialup if I get an incoming call when the computer trys to dial out-it gets an error message - no dial tone detected. Im going to be gone for two weeks and want all the computers to keep folding-so how can I get task scheduler to restart computers once a day???
You can try this piece of software

Not sure if it works or how it works but they offer a 30 day trial and a full license is only 19.95 I think.
If using 2000 you can use Windows scripting.
Open a DOS box and type restart, it will pop up a box showing you how to do that using restart.vbs. You can then just make a batch file and launch it with the scheduler.
I believe this will also work on '98 if you install Windows Scripting host but I'm not sure.

Win 98 use this. C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL32.EXE shell32,SHExitWindowsEx 5 (Force shuotdown no matter what I use it for a shutdown when my temps get to high)
I don't know the reboot one though

HOPEFULLY I just got it resolved. If not, I may look into a suitable firearm. :D

Had to set the cookies to always accept

Thanks for all the help. I found a program called shutdown pro. It will let you reboot at a set time everyday, or after a set period of time. I have tried it on one computer and it works.
