Does the cache on a PPro affect folding times? These chips can be had in up to 2 MB (on die I believe) cache size and I am thinking of a dual Pentium Pro setup to fold...maybe dual PPro 200's oc'ed to 233-250 or so.
If cache affects folding times I'll order the 1 MB or 2 MB Pro's.
And also, I believe I've seen Slot 1 adapters for these chips... how would one do on a BX board? Any guesses?

I run Dual PPro 200 with 256k Cache. Cache or no Chache there still 200mhz. They fold in time to complete a WU but they are slow. The good thing is I can run two fah clients.

you know, now that I've looked a little on Pricewatch and eBay, if I am wanting to throw together a folding box, it should probably be a cheap Duron or a dual P2.... I found a Tyan dual P2 board for $40, and 2x P2 300 would be $60.... I think it's probably more worth it to get a Duron board, esp. since I have a Duron and a spare HSF already.
I'm a little disappointed, I was looking forward to playing around with a new platform... but all in all, if I am looking for an efficient folder, getting a setup for my extra Duron chip is probably the way to go.

If you already have the P Pro board I fount the P2 upgrade. Its a Pentium Pro Overdrive 333MHz PII Upgrade (http://www.ubid.com/actn/opn/getpage.asp?AuctionId=5571345) Pro to PII CPU Upgrade in Retail Box. They have 99 of them and right now the price is $34.00 :p
