Yea they are making one, i dont know if the rock will be in it or not.
They're also making an Alone in the Dark movie and have pruchased the rights to making numerous others, too many to really name off.

If the rock is ganan be in this movie that would kick a$$, he did such a good job in Cron of riddick i think he would do a even better job on Doom3.
And whats even better is that the movie is said to be out on the 5th of August thats my Bday !!! :clap:

I hope the role if he is playing sarge isnt ganna be small like on the game cuss in the game he didnt do anything cept talk to on the com syste mand become all mutated at the end

the rock was never in chronicles of riddick, that was vin diesel. i hate both of them anyway.

A movie of D3....
It could be cool. but god, i hope the rock is NOT in this movie. If he is, than the entire movie will revolve around HIM, and not the story or action..
Vin Diesel could do a much better job than the rock, but i'm getting tired of seeing him to, Vin is just WAY over hyped. all he has is a friggin huge body, and a deep rhaspy voice.
the movie might be worth seeing, but i don't think it will be the next giant blockbuster...at all. The movie might break even on profits, but nothing like the titanic ( which still sucked )
i'm just tired of all these Video game movies. they miss out on to many crucial details, the get the biggest faces in hollywood, to lure people into seeing a movie, that is only Sub-par.
I think i'll sit back, and Wait for Final Fantasy:Advent Children to come out.

Nah... I heard originally that they were going to cast the Rock as the space marine in the game... but they decided against it and cast the actor who played Eomer in the LOTR trilogy instead.

The only good movie with the Rock in it was the remake of _walking talk_, but that movie was ONLY good because of the 4x4 in it, which was absolutely awesome.

Cool.... I like Karl Urben..... should be o.k. with a relative unknown actor.... he's good though. What studio house is doing the movie?

It sounds like they're putting more story into the movie than what's actually in any of the games. Whether that'll prove to be a good thing or a bad thing will remain to be seen.

It is based more closely off of the Doom3 storyline rather than Doom1 or 2

I think that Vin Desile would be good as "the Marine" because its the right type of movie for a peice of muscel with a bit of a brain.

Vin Diesel's movies have had even less plot and intelligent dialogue than the Rock's movies. If anyone should play the Marine, it should be the Rock, not the guy who played Eomer. He looks too weird for me to take him seriously. I think that casting decision alone could probably ruin the movie. It's like making Scott Bacula the captain of a starship. Or having that guy who played Legolas kill Brad Pitt. I just can't take it seriously.

I seen some screenies of the alone in the dark movie in the Wish i had an angel video by nightwish, awesome video, but having christian slater/tera reid and stephen dorff it looks awesome and the rock in DOOM3 that would rock

Plot synopis of DOOM:
bad scientests open a portal to hell putting demons on mars. Everybody dies except one lone marine who must destroy all the demos from hell that are on mars and keep himself allive. Also he must try to shutdown the portal to hell so every thing can go back to normal.
The whole game was based on the premis of shooting bad things in the dark. Thats about it. How you going to pull a movie out of that. I would much rather see something on say the desues ex world or something exploraing the half-life world in more depth.
But hey thats just me....

The idea of the film is to further to storyline, while maintaining the best part of doom - fear and action.

At least John Woo isn't directing the Doom movie so it's not completely consigned to sucking. Has he ever made a good movie? All I can think of are some Jet Li movies (all sucked) and Paycheck (also sucked).
I don't think the Rock is going to do Far Cry. He's already signed up for Spy Hunter (with John Woo) and if he isn't the main character for Doom, I wouldn't think he'd do Far Cry as it's going to have a MUCH smaller budget.
If I were a gambling man I'd put money on him playing Gordon Freeman however.
