i know this sounds like a dumb question, but how much am i looking at in loss of performance to dual channel pc2700 from 3200 ? i play games and all the regular stuff =p So would the pc3200 be alot better, or would 2700 be fine, may oc it to 3200 speeds? price is the main concern here.. running out of $ =\

if you are comparing 166 mhz fsb vs 200 fsb.... that would be a significant difference. You would probably notice the difference in games and such.... you'd see a pretty significant difference in benchmarks as well. Of course if you get good pc2700 ram you can overclock it to make up the difference.

alright, i think im going with 3200, didnt know if there would be a big difference or not

but right now my fsb is 533 so wouldnt ddr400 be to slow? i dont think itd cap it that much, but thought id make sure.

intel i assume? 533fsb= 133(ddr266, pc2100), and 800fsb =200(ddr400, pc3200)

i've got two sticks of pc 2700 running in my box and it does 200 MHz without a prob (2.8V 2.5,3,3,8) (1 stick crucial, 1 stick samsung) It doesn't like being pushed past this though.... it goes unstable at 207 MHz... so if you just want stability at 200 MHz, go for the 2700... if you want to crank up your fsb, the 3200 is the way to go.
