how good is the eheim 1048

ya im kind of tire of my danner mag 3's chamber keep busting, so i wanna get something thats quite reliable and arent prone to leaks. Would the eheim fit the descriptio? and could you give a quick comparison to other pumps ?

It's reliable, but not nearly as powerful as the mag 3. I'd suggest the MCP650/dangerden 12V pump if you have some cash.

MCP650, is it nosy... i want something quiet and doesnt produce a lot of heat you know..

It has a slight hum, it used to be loud, but they came out with a muffled version that is much quieter. I doubt it'll be louder than your mag3, but the eheim 1048 is basically silent.

hrm.. i think i shall invest my money into the eheim 1048... 12v version
