800 duron ?

How far can the 800 Duron go ? My friend got that chip in his comp, and I, trying to make everybody like overclocking, was tell him he should OC his chip ! But he insists on not spending any $$ on his comp for that

Most (but not all) Duron 800's will make around 1 ghz, there are two ways to hit this 10x100 or 7.5x133 the latter being the best option as the higher FSB increased the speed of the system components. A few Durons 800 obtain slightly higher than this however to reach 1100 mhz most need extreme cooling or sustantially increased voltage (motherboard modification). The Duron generally run a little warmer than an Althlon of the same clock speed so obviously watch the tempratures, If you can keep it cool there is no reason why the Duron 800 can not obtain a nice overclock
