View Full Version : 'One-off' water block manufacturer
I've got a couple of designs for waterblocks I want to get made but not having a milling machine I cant make them. do any of you guys either have the necassary kit or know someone who will do one-off's?
I'm willing to pay a fair price of course.
I even looked at buying a model makers milling machine but they are sooo expensive and the machine shops around here want crazy money (£240 was the last quote for one block !!!)

I would imagine that I could make or get one made pretty easily (I am a machinist).. but.. sounds like you're in the UK? I'm in Neb, USA.. so.. probably wouldn't be very helpful....

If you dont mind my asking what part of Nebraska? Im in Wichita KS, so it might not be all that impossible if we did some talking... :p

I'm in Lincoln...
If you have some designs you want me to see about getting made.. email me @ jharless@neb.rr.com with the specifics. I will talk to a friend that runs our NC Mills and see if he'll get me some time on the machine.. or handle it himself.. or if its likely to get someone in trouble ;).

Maybe you can help me! I'm over in the US on holiday next month so you could mail it to me (or even mail it to the UK) I could pay with paypal.
I'll mail you the drawing.
Thanks
Well can you machine acrylic too? I just bought a huge freakin block of it yesterday... 12"x12"x1" - thought about making an acrylic block and attaching some alluminum on the bottom...

Acrylic can certainly be machined. Its more prone to cracking/chipping/scratches than Lexan.. but.. its doable. Send me the specifics.. and I'll try to get you an estimate.

Will do once I can get my hands on another mobo that will support the design that I want to use... thanks...
