a friend of mine bought yesterday an AMD Athlon @ 1.4GHz but the cpu temp shows from 67 - 72 degrees !!!!! i think that the cooler is not adequate for this cpu its a Golden orb type so i told him to buy the FOP38 or WBK38 from globalwin...what is your opinion ? it would be very helpful if you told us what we could do
thanks

Those temp's are WAY to high! Get rid of the Orb! The FOP or WBK should be good enough, but if he's gonna overclock, I think you should get something better like the Silver mountain or Sk6.
How about case cooling?

That temp is REALLY bad!! The Golden orb just suck and isnt rated for the 1.4g cpu so i would have spent some money on a new hsw like the wbk38 or glaciator.

The cpu will die if it runs at that temp for any longer period of time so u might save alot of money if u buy a new hsw.

I really hope this is the load temp and not the idle temp!! Or u might fry it if u play some games. If i was him i would have not used the computer before he gets a new fan for it.
