Which is better at making use of a dual CPU setup, WinXP or Win2k? Of course I am assuming that XP supports a dual CPU config., so I have heard. I mainly play games (HL:CS) and related other stuff, some paperwork for school and the like. However, my main reason for a dual board was so that I can run SETI all the time (didn't want an extra box and whole setup) and still have a CPU to play games and to other things with:) Just interested in the pros and cons of the two OSs for a dual setup, any insight and experience is welcome:)

PS, I may occasionally setup a weekend HL:CS server for fun so networking capabilities are important.

XP (at least the home version, the one currently available) does not support SMP, so your best bet is going to be 2000.

xp pro does very nicely with smp. no better or worse than 2000 though. the cool thing is it can detect the number of cpus you have auto maticly from boot to boot. not a big deal but a neat little gimick
