View Full Version : Linux and geforce 2 go
I am thinking about getting a new laptop just to run Linux on. Has anyone tried NVidia's geforce 2 go with their Linux drivers? If this works for 3d then I will know what graphics chipset to look for in a laptop.

Thanks! Now I have a good idea of what to start looking for. Next I need to shop around and see what sound cards come in laptops with GF2 Go and find a good Linux friendly laptop.
I think that most sound cards are Linux compatible, you just need kernel support(no probs - usually a default) and you can do the reast easily. Although getting an SB compatible Sound Card is a really good idea.
Part of the problem is that most manufacturers don't seem to list detailed hardware specs for their laptops on the web sites or in adds. I guess I am just going to have print out the hardware compatibility list and take a trip to comp usa and play around with some different ones so I can determine what hardware they have. If I am going to get one it will be %100 linux friendly!
