I just bought this Radeon and was hoping for better 3D mark scores. I was getting around 1500 with a 32 meg 3D prophet, and now I am getting 2943 with a radeon 64 DDR. Does that sound right? I think my scores are too low. Anything I can do to raise them? Thanks

That's low. You need to make sure you have the 7075 drivers from the ATI website. These perform the best IMO. Then you need to download Radeon Tweaker from www.tweakfiles.com. The 183Mhz memory on the VIVO should oc up to about 220Mhz at least.

I get 3124 with Hyper Z enabled and oced to 195 for my Radeon LE.

I get 3065 with my 64mb DDR Raedon, this is on a P3 700@1053 with otherwise stock settings on W2k...I think these scores are a bit low but not to far off

I tried Radeon Tweaker and while it was installed it freaked out my radeon. I had to uninstall it before I could run 3D Mark 2001. I am now getting a score of 2933. So same as before. I have the latest drivers, any ideas why radeon tweaker wouldn't work for me? Was I doing something wrong? What settings was I supposed to work with. Thanks

Here's how I usually use it:

If you have a Radeon LE you'll need to check the "Ensure HyperZ is enable at boot" box in order to get maximum performance. That's very important. Then click on the Profiles tab. This is the best place to start if you're learning how to use the program. Here's a screenshot:

If you're using 3DMark2001, double-click on that profile. That will load the optimal settings. I normally use the Recommended Defaults when I'm not using 3DMark2001.

The other important section is the Overclocking tab. You'll notice I circuled and labeled three things. The first thing is the slider to change your core and memory clock. Never go in steps of more than 5Mhz and assume that you won't get higher than 200Mhz (because you probably won't). If you start to see artifacts (little white or colored "blips" in games), then back off a little.

The second thing I circuled is the Memory Latency and Timing. I never mess with this because it makes the system unstable on my computer.

The third thing I circuled is the "Load these settings when Windows starts" box and the Use Asynchronous Core/Memory clock" box. If you're testing settings make sure you don't have Load when Windows starts checked, otherwise if it locks and won't boot you'll need to go into Safe Mode to turn off RadeonTweaker and it's a major pain in the butt. You should never check the use asynchronous core/memory box. This makes the system unstable and usually lowers performance.

That's pretty much it. Post back if you have more questions.

W/ the Radeon, you can use asynchronous clocks, but it dosn't like it.

Your problem is the VIVO...
All the reviews of it rate it's 3D performance as poor compared to the Radeon.
I have the Radeon LE and get scores of 3000+

The best ive ever gotten with my Radeon LE is right around 3100 something. That was with a TBIRD900 at 133fsb with only the vid card overclocked to 194 core and memory.
Ive had better luck with power strip getting 3dmark scores for some reason. I usually just overclock, and enable hyperz conpression and z mask.

I get 3658 with my Radeon 64MB DDR ViVo

Dogman that is a great score. With the same card I can't get anything near that. Now my system isn't anything compared to yours but shouldn't my scores be close. Do you use any tweaking progams and what are they?

I scored 3706 after doing some HyperZ optimizations w/ PowerStrip. My card is also running @ 205/205.

I am so jelous!! I tried installing radeon tweaker again and it worked and then I upped the bus speed and I didn't get anything better. What is up with that? I am getting just under 3000. Why won't my scores go up? What could be any other problems? What should I do?

I did some more tweaking, tried some different drivers, and got this:
