I've got 2 of them that won't go over 1.2ghz so they're getting dropped into a dual cpu server.

I bought a 1GHz 266 bus OEM chip from newegg.com and it's a ARGA stepping. About a month before I had bought this same chip from newegg and got an AXIA, and that chip runs great at 1333Mhz. Both were locked, but I unlocked them with a graphite mechanical pencil. The AXIA is on a MSI KT7 Turbo (KT133A)

I installed the ARGA 1GHz chip on a MSI K7 Master (AMD 761 chipset) along with a stick of crucial cas 2.5 PC2100 DDr 256Mb ram. I used a thermaltake Volcano II with this chip just like I did on the AXIA. The ARGA would not post at 1333Mhz at 1.85 volts so I backed down to 1200 Mhz. I installed Windows 2000 Advanced server and SPK 2 at that speed. I ran the computer about 6 hours at 1200 Mhz on a 9 x 133 bus. Since this machine had to be made into a make shift server I backed down to the original 1 GHz settings and has been in use 24/7. When the new dual processor server comes online I'll play around with this chip and see if I can get 1333 Mhz out of her.

I suspect that these are not as good as the AXIA. The chip cost $70 so you can't complain. I really did well with my first 1GHz 266 bus chip (AXIA) and thought I would do as well this time but it wasn't in the cards. I wont be trying to overclock 1 GHz 266 chips anymore though as the cost of a real 1.4Ghz chip is only about $35 more. I just love these new low prices.

Welcome skywarp and thanks for all the info! I was about to order a 1ghz chip from newegg for a friend but I am now telling him to go ahead and get a 1.2MP for his epox 8k7a instead. l8r
