Difference between OC and flashing.

What is the difference? Can't you "manually" achieve the same clock speeds as a higher-level card? If so, then what's the point of flashing?

well i know on some cards you can get other benefits, like unlocking the 4 extra pipes on the x800 series. but for clock speeds there isn't a difference in performance. I think the only thing it does is allows you to clock the card higher without running a piece of software like ati-tool or radlinker. however both of those programs use no resources to overclock.

doesn't a flash also allow you to tweak voltages and stuff?
