Need Serious Help

I have a radeon mobility 9600 and am experiancing GOD AWFUL lock ups during rome total war. I can't even get 5 minutes into the prologue. I tried omega drivers and mods but nothing works... maybe i'm installing them wrong -- anybody have advice? Please?

I would check also that you have all the latest directX and game patches, and make sure that the cooling apparatus is properly attached to your video card. Does any other game give the same problems or is it just this one?

yes. doom 3 also locks up bad.

Sounds like it could be heat related to me. try taking off your side panel and blowing a house fan on your card, see if that helps at all?

Well, blowing a house fan certainly does take out that "mobility" part, doesn't it?

dont forget the fact that it is a laptop... hence the mobility part

i bought a cooling station from best buy, it's still locking up...

when they say cooling apparatus they mean the physical fan.... the guy is dumb he thinks you have a desktop
