How would i go about disabling internet explorer, or atleast removing its access to the internet. If i can come up with an easy way to keep people off the internet i can get an additional 12 PIII 800's for teh folding@home team. The comps are in my school cad lab, and the teacher doesn't want kids on the net durring class, so they have the internet disabled on all but the first 3 comps in the room. So what i basicaly need is a way to keep explorer from accessing the internet, or even keep it from being launched.

simple way would be remove all shortcuts. If they can't launch it, they can't access the internet.
You could remove it with IEradicator get it form the 98 lite web site.

I forgot to mention that they are running windows 2000, and its pretty open. Everyone can access the harddrive, and most of the settings on the computer.

I would say go in properties, and hide every "internet related" program. And isn't there a sort of protection, for "root only" like for Linux ? In my school, they have Windows 95, and everything except programs they want you to use is hidden ! Even c: drive !

Actually someone in the foldng forum found the solution, tiny personal firewall. You can set application permission, and it requires a password to change settns or shut donw.
