I happy with them for the most part. If you have a network with more then one computer on the net you will feel the diffrence. i had cable but moved and dsl was the only thing avaliable besides dial-up and we cant go there.

If you running one computer go for it. Your best off getting a router becouse you need a password and logging ext. There software suck.

Oh you have to install yourself if its still the same. You get a box with a bunch of photos telling you how to set it up. Easy for the most part

We use Verizon DSL at the office. It goes to a router, which then goes to a couple of switches to provide Internet access to 7 or 8 desktops (wired) and a few laptops (wireless). Works an absolute treat.

The only time we've ever had any problems with it was actually FPL's fault (Florida Power & Light), and surgest causing the switches & router to reset n' go funny. Once FPL came out and fixed the electrical supply to the building, all has been sweet :)

I use Comcast Cable at home, which is fast when it wants to be. The problem is it doesn't want to be all the time :)

I've been a Verizon customer since 2000 and I love it. I had cable but at peak hours it was slow so I switched to Verizon DSL since it's a deticated line. My speed was 768kbps\90kbps. In actualiy that translates to 90 b per second download and 11kb per second upload. Just recently I realized that the DSL verizon is offering now was 10 dollars cheaper a month then what I was paying and it was 1.5mbps\128kbps-- that's twice as fast as mine was. So I called Verizon and told them to upgrade me to the standard 1.5mps\128mbps. The support person said since I've been a member for over 4 years and that I have been paying 10.00 a month more for the past 2 years that I qualify for their Business DSL which is 3.0mbps\384mbps for no extra charge. I'm currently paying 44.00 a month for a package that actually cost 90.00 per month! They also sent me a new Westell DSL router\modem for nothing. Verizon is great and my connection is blazin fast. With the 3.0mbps\384mbps, I get download speed of 345kb per second download and 90kb per second upload. Not to mention that this is deticated. I highly recomend Verizon DSL.

Depending on your area and provider, cable can hit higher speeds for you, for a decent price. DSL can get too costly too quick for the types of speeds they give. If it's your only option, go with it. Else, I would definately say to talk to both sides and see which gives you the better connection for the price. Cable has been known to slow down, mostly a hardware issue that they can resolve. DSL can get interference, and often times, you suffer your connection simply so that those that are out in the boonies can get a better connection. I've heard of some instances where it is distributed like that. THe ones next to the hub suffer so the ones furthest away can benefit.

Just do your homework, sounds like the best option.
