Got the new rig up (in sig)
I first go to the BIOS, and theres no manual overclockin stuff like on my DFI. WTF?
Just that AI crap. Do i need to flash the bios to get to do it manually?
Also, I have my dvd-rw drive set as the first boot device, but for some reason it keeps saying theres nothing to boot from. It recognizes the drive in bios too.. IDK whats up with that.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!

p4p800 dlx is a great board....didn't you get the detailed manual? If not it's available online at the ASUS site. Most of the settings are hidden from you so you have to look a bit.
A 350 watt power supply is probably not enough to overclock @ 3.8. One sign is HD troubles. Go back to 3.2 and set things up, then slowly raise your OC.

I would also go to this site (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/) and download the ISO for the 'Ultimate Boot CD' It is the best collection of HD utilities and other useful progs that I've ever seen compiled in one place. It has the Maxtor diagnostics (which I believe include tests and scripts to return the HD to factory condition if there is no physical damage).
Also on there are several disk wiping progs. There are times when I have had similar problems with HDs and it was that the MBR had gotten messed up. After wiping the whole disk (which partitioning and formatting don't usually do) and starting fresh, I was almost always free of the problems. The times I wasn't the HD was actually physically bad.

Kewl, keep an eye on it, you might have weakened the PSU by over taxing it. If it preforms ok for a while then time for a new one before problems start.
You might also have reached the limit of ur board at 3.8 and its not only the PSU that is limiting your over clocking.

Is it a full version or an update? Not sure what an update looks for to verify its updating something.
How about booting off the CD and run the recovery console and ask it to fix windows. If that doesn't work then run "fixmbr" and then "diskpart" to establish that things are partitioned properly. Then "chkdsk /r" to verify the disk is really ok.
