Hey...

I got a new vid card the other day, nothing flash but it was free and I can run my C2 800@1066 now because my agp banshee would died at the 83 agp bus (I gotta get a new MB so I can get more than 133fsb!!).

Its a TnT m64 16 meg (clocked at 165 core 180 mem) but it doesn't do is the 64meg tunnel test in 3DMark2000...what I find weird is that my banshee (16meg) did the test fine.....???

What do I have to set to make it run the test like it did on my banshee??
(the only thing i changed ws the vid card)

I've noticed the same thing with some 32MB geforce cards I've owned.

unexplained.

I don't think it's the RAM's on the vidcard that are important, but the RAM's in your comp. I had 128 Mb in my old Duron, and I could only run the test sometimes. A friend of mine had a setup almost the same as mine (Same MoBo, CPU and vidcard), but he had 256Mb RAM and he could run the test everytime.

I have been able to enable that test on my gf2mx (32mb) by increasing my AGP apature (sp?) size to 128Mb in the BIOS. Hope this helps.

I never had a Banshee, but I don't think they can do AGP texturing.

As far as I know, any card based on the Voodoo2 technology can only use textures up to 256x256 16bit-color. That sure uses less memory than M64's 2048x2048 16/32bit color textures.

I think that's why that test used to work with the Banshee.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The 64 meg test ran like crap on a voodoo3 I have. IT was PCI so I could not play around with the memory.

I had a Radeon LE and the test ran "ok" with a slight bit of choppyness towards the end when I had 128 megs with 64 alotted to the vid card.
When I upgraded to 256megs the tunnel test ran just fine when I set the apature to 128 it ran perfect.
