I have an Abit KT7A Raid motherboard and an AMD Athlon 800. I am new to overclocking and would like to know:
What is the max I can overclock it to?
How would I do this?
What do I need (Fan etc.)?
Thanks :D

First things first. Take a look at my sig below & create your sig with the same format. Make sure that it's exactly what you have. This will allow all the people that view your questions the specifics of your rig & help you better on what you need. Take a look at the front page of this site & read the articles to get you started. Hear from you soon & WELCOME TO THE FORUMS.

Welcome to the O/C Forums OutKast. Like Sonny stated - creating a sig that details the hardware and OS that you have, helps others to intelligently answer your questions.
To answer what the max overclock potential is on your 800 chip would depend on the HSF, power supply, speed of ram, case and case cooling, etc...
Temps are critical in overclocking - as is quality components, i.e. good ram, good PSU etc.
I have seen others that have overclocked their 800's over 1 gig, I have also heard of some that can't get it over 880. There are many tricks that will have to be learned, such as unlocking the multiplier via the L1 bridges, if your serious about speed, water cooling vs air cooling, voltage mods, etc... No one can post here and say that you will get 1.1gigs or 1gig.
Why don't you let us know what you have, and people will be able to give advice from that.
I've got a Kt7A and a 750 with a poor CoolerMaster hsf. I reached 1050Mhz during the winter (low ambient temp). Now, on summer I've got to go for 980 (140x7). Waiting for water cooling....
So even if you use a standard hsf, I think your cpu can give you satisfaction.
Personally I set Vcore to 1.750 for 980Mhz.
