hey guys...
i think that i fried my chip, but im not positive....both are new and i havent gotten it to post at all...i only have an old vid card the board, the chip, fan and ram in when i try to post...the ram is mushkin 2100 ddr 128 mb
the board turns on and the fans all turn on too, so im pretty sure it is the chip...all chips are compatible w/ the ddr mobo's right?

The 1.4mhz ahyja 266 bus should have no problems running on you mobo.

Are you getting any bios beeps when attempting to start your system ?

hmmm...make sure everything is seated properly and there's no bad grounds.

im not getting any speaker beeps...and yes it is plugged in properly...is it still supposed to beep when the proc doesnt work because i tried to post w/out the ram to see if it would beep and it didnt...also i have checked all the standoffs....i got a funny smell from the proc, this is what leads me to believe it is fried...it was faint but a weird smell

I had a similar problem with my KG7-R. I didn't push my ram in hard enough. and make sure you put the ram in slot 4. You can also try searching this site:
