Just read an article on Air Chillers and how to build your own.
Here is the article
http://www.hardwareoc.com/airchillerz.php
I want to make some modifications to what they built insted of the OCZ Monster 3, using 2 Global Win CAK32's and putting a smaller fan on the cooling side heatsink.

I will pass on the whole peltier idea. I am a hard core air junky.

I just read that article and at first I thought it was an absurd concept, especially after reading this:

"it is not unreasonable to expect case temps as low as 10 - 15C." Since it hasn't been tested as far as I can tell, I seriously doulbt that a 20CFM fan can lower the internal case temp to that.

I mulled over what I read and the author mentions that you should blow the cold air from the top of your case which makes sense since cold air migrates to the bottom of your case.

Now if one took this idea and applied the HOOT Shoot concept and shot the cold air directly to the HSF via the Hoot Shoot or duct with a fan higher than 20cfm+ it would be a better mod imho.

If you have a pelt and a decent heatsink already, why not slapping the cold side on the cpu die and the CAK38 on the hot side. CPU temps will be lower if your pelt can take the heat that is put out by your cpu. Best bet would be screwing a coldplate down to the heatsink with a lot of pressure.

Don't already have one am contiplaiting building one of those setup's though.

Is there a way to suck the heat off the heat sink instead of blowing straight into the fins on the heatsink?

Some HSF assemblies have shrouds on them. With the shrouds, you set your fan to suck. If you had the money - why not just get a Swiftech MC462A, with an 80mm Delta 68cfm fan blowing down. In the side door/panel - cut a 120mm blow hole and mount a Panaflo 120 over the CPU area. Constant room temp air being supplied to the CPU fan.

I am trying not to make too much more noise than I already have this Globalwin WBK38 makes enough noise. I was thinking by have the chiller contained inside the case the noise won't be so bad.
