I've seen and read a load of articles about placing a fan on the top of the case sucking out the hot air thereby acting like a chimney.

Is it crazy to suggest that instead of placing a regular case fan there, to stick a slot fan upside down in its place (with the exhaust part cut into the side of the case)?

Wouldn't an exhaust slot fan do a better job at removing the air than a regular fan, since this is what they are made for?

Plz give me your thoughts on this: pros/cons

You could do that - and as Would71 said it will probably burn out faster than a regular fan. I have 2 120mm 'chimney' fans in my case - Sunon 105cfm with rubber bushings. Hey, if your going to cut a hole - why not a round 92mm or 120mm blow hole.

The bigger the hole the bigger the fan the bigger the air output.

So if u wanna get rid of heat quick bigger is better.

This only proves that

But yes, the more CFM you can get going through the "chimney," the better.
