I'm getting a tbird 1 GHz AYHJA Y tomorrow, which I'll couple with my Soyo Dragon and a CAK38, and I plan to push it up to 1.5 at least. I also have a 400 Watt PSU, and I'm sticking with air cooling, right now, but should i go peltier? Will I see much of a difference with air cooling? And what wattage, then?

If your using a T-Bird then i don't think that any pelter capable of moving enough heat could be cooled by air. if you want to use pelters then use watercooling or make some air chillers.

156 or 172. For one of that rating, you'll need either a seperate power supply that can supply a constant 15 or 24 volts and ~10 amps. For this you'll need a water-cooling setup, so you should stick with air for now

Figure out how fast your Bird will go with air cooling first. Add 50 to 100 MHz for water cooling and another 100 MHz for pelts. Figure your heat output and the proper pelt will be double the wattage of your Bird. If you have a really peppy chip, dual 120 pelts will be the ticket.
