View Full Version : Video card too hot?
What is a normal or decent temp. for an Asus 7100Pro 64mg card?Mine is at 47c now and would like to know if that gives me some room to OC. I got my FSB to 158 and want to push my card now too and BM it.
The card will start crapping out visually before it causes any damage to the GPU. That's not to say set it to 400MHZ and pray, but raising the speed 5 mhz at a time with a prog like powerstrip (can download at my link below) will be safe and reliable. Once any visual distortion takes place, back it off a few mhz until it goes way...

OK I will add something else(I am wearing a combat helmet from WWII with a lead lining to try to stop Pinky 'the Psychic overclocker' from stealing thoughts regarding overclocking from me :p
Slap one of these rackmount IU heatsinks on your GPU and forget about high heat:

This AOC copper HSF is kick@ss and about the best cost effective way to cool your gpu. and sure as Sh$t kicks the Blue Orbs @SS.
PS Its half the price of the Alpha pal15u and although not quite as good as the Alpha(due to the Alpha's superior design and 21.19 CFM fan, but the AOS is really Nice for GPU cooling.
Did I mention its on sale at 50% off

ehh just make a hole in the side door of your case right infront of the Video Card... Thats what I did and I put 92 mm Fan that blows Cool air from the side onto the Video Card... That should keep it cool..
