9800 AIW Temp? [Archive] - Overclockers Forums

Hello everyone. I'm a newb to the forum and have a question. I want to know if my 9800 AIW has a temp sensor chip on it that ATI Tool should be able to see.

I found and downloaded the latest version (.22), but it says in the log file that the chip is not detected. Do I not have one because I have an AIW? Or is there something wrong somewhere? Thanks!............Lan

Come on, help me out here. Just a simple "your card doesn't have one" or "your card does have one and you have a problem" is all I really need. Thanks............Lan

the AIW is a derivative of the 9800 Pro series, which typically has no internal temp sensor. sometimes, an r360 (9800xt) core gets put on a 9800 pro board (because it's easier these days to just make r360's). and those have temp sensors. for those to work, the pcb has to be the 9800xt pcb, which i dont think can be used for AIW's. so chances are- No.
