I just read AMDs white paper on CPU cooling the interesting I found was that a better PSU is one that has an air intake a the bottom with a fan to improve exhaust in airflow. A lot of the time the PSU sits just over the CPU in your PC and having something to suck away and get rid of the hot air your CPU is creating is very good the exhaust system can be acheived with ducts, but i think this could be a good idea here is a pic of a PSU with under side air intake:

Tell me what you think??

thanks for your reply

how did u modify the PSU?

I presume you take the cover off and then drill or something do you get the 80mm fan in the PSU or a smaller one??

Well I suppose i will have to drill a load of hole or something and then basically attach a small fan to that I don't have enough room for a full size 80mm fan I could put a 60mm fan in and while I'm at it (with the PSU out) take off my Orb and put the CAK38 in (if itarrives) (it better do)!!!

thanks for your help

This is what enermax do with their psu's
I modified mine to have an intake above the cpu, but I couldn't do it in the normal way as the heatsinks inside the psu are too close to the top of the case for an 80mm fan to fit, so the fan kind of comes out of the top, I'll write a guide up for spodesabode if people are interested in it

if you could write a guide and give me the URL i'd love to read it, any kind of cooling is good for me so please write a guide!!
