I need to order a 18K Ohm Shunting resistor to perform a voltage mod on a Hercules Kyro 2 but they come in various wattages. I've read over this (http://www.xbitlabs.com/video/kyro2-2/) article at XBit Labs but I cannot find mention what wattage they used. there are .5, 1 and 2 watt versions of the same 18K Ohm resistor. Anyone know? I'm guessing it would be lower wattage as opposed to higher but I don't want to ruin the card.

Even 1/2 watt is too big, see if you can find a 1/4 watt or 1/8 watt. You may even be able to find a chip resistor and solder it to R37 vacant spot, but without actually seeing the PCB I wouldn't recommend it as they are not sure it actually shunts R38 or R39.
It is just a control voltage so only milliamps will be flowing through the resistors, and as such they only need to be low wattage.
Hope that helps you. :)

Just read your other post about heatsinks - I would suggest Artic Silver Epoxy. If you don't want it quite so "aggressive" then add a little Artic Silver 2 hs compound.
