I can't get it to run. Direct3D and OpenGL both lock up mid-gameplay when I use the card. I've downloaded drivers, installed DirectX8, I use Via 4 in 1 because my motherboard is a Via Technologies but it still locks up. Does anyone have an idea as to how I can fix this? Thanks a lot!
Is your cpu overclocked?
What os are you using?
What brand is your video card?
What brand/model is your motherboard?

BUMP for reply......
its better to hear that with some other explanations about your hardware but up to now all will make me suspicious about is the AGP multiplier and GART. VIA chipsets have some known issues concerning the "turbo mode" for GART so if youve installed yours using this try re-installing it in standard mode (AGP VxD in VIA 4in1). Also if youve enabled "fastwrites" or "sidebanding" or both into the BIOS try testing your system with both disabled. Once were still into the BIOS make sure the "cache mode" is set to UC despite of USWC: all these settings u may find into the "chip configuration".
if the system still keeps locking up try returning us some more information about your hardware.
good luck.

You had me until this... what do these abbreviations mean?

those r the cache modes for the video memory, as i said they can be set into the "chip configuration" part in the BIOS - theyre both:
"USWC (uncacheable, speculative write combining) is a new cache technology for the video memory of the processor. it can greatly improve the display speed by caching the display data. you must set this to UC (uncacheable) if your display card does not support this feature, otherwise the system may not boot."
that was a part of my mobo's manual. most of the new video cards can handle USWC but supporting it almost never means the display speed will greatly increase. that can also be the source for the system lock ups and from what i readed in most of the cases USWC will not out perform the UC as the description above show us to assert.
