I am looking for a small yet fairly quick SCSI to boot from. Will i see a performance gain by using a bootable adaptec scsi pci card in conjunction with a Seagate cheater drive over my maxtor ide drive(7,200 ATA100). I think my maxtor drive is failing me as well and i just will use it for storage as its integrity is ok but not its fitness(acording to speedfan). anyone got any ideas or suggesions, aim all ears. Am i wrong in thnking that a small quick drive to boot from and a larger drive for storage is better? Is booting via a pci scsdi card going to be quick or slower?
