ok well i should be getting my 2x16 lcd on monday, i have one parallel port and its for my printer so im gonna buy a usb to parallel cable but should i use it for the printer or the lcd?

doesnt the lcd being in parallel take alot of resources? so would i save some by using it in the usb?

anyway i can make a usb to parallel cable so i can save 15 bucks?

why wouldnt the lcd work?

Why are you still using a parallel printer?? I would hook the lcd up to parallel and hook the printer up to usb with a adapter

At my old job (internship) we had a plotter/printer that was a parrallel printer. It was pretty new and worked really well. Only thing, besides not being usb, is that it didnt have a network connection.

The company got it for really cheap though, so it was worth it.

Anyway, moral of the story is that parrallel printers are still around
