Hey, those of you who remember me having problems with my rig a few months ago.... well i finally got it fixed!

I figured out the problem was that the waterblocks i was sing werent compatiable with my system so they were touching stuff they weren't supposed to :(... but n e wayz i got it working on air cooling!

LGA775 P4 3.2 ghz 1 mb L2 cache @ 3.6 ghz (on air) with stock voltages and at 50 degrees celcius

1 gb dual channel ddr2 crucial ballistix ram pc2-5300 @ 300 fsb  with a 3:4 ratio

73 gb 10000 rpm raptor

x300 xt pci-e video card (temporary until i get my x600 xt fixed....)

this system is badass!! once i get my water cooling system ready id say 4 ghz is in the books!

p.s. im trying to upload screenies, but the bmp file is too large, and after i compress it, it says it's still too large :eh?:

So, the AA8 allows you to use the 3:4 ratio? Cool!

yes it's awesome :D and im assuming it's better than 1:1, correct?

by the way, do u like pi? here's some superpi! 37 s

i have gotten to 3.8 stable, but i dont intend on taking another screeny unless i can get it to 4, which might not be in my cards, since im on air :-/

yahh... i just tried 4 ghz, and i couldnt get it to POST. im unsure about how much voltage it's safe for me to give it though.

my default voltages are:

CPU- 1.3975 V
DDR- 1.8 V
NB- 1.5 V

My temperatues seem fine, regardless of the OC, but idk how high to push my voltages before settling with what i have. until i get my wc fixed up, im going to look into constructing a make-shift air system. :D

edit: idk if i'm addicted or what, but does anyone know of any safe mods i can do on my system :p

edit 2: does anyone know if ddr2 booster is out yet? if so, could u hook me up wit ha link plz

1.45v for the CPU ram and NB i dont know, ask batty.

Did you turn the 3:4 off? Duno if that ram is capable that high.

Try 1:1 ratio @ 4ghz see if that works.

ill give 1:1 a try, but I think the ram is very capable, since at default it's underclocked. i think the default speed for the ram is 333.5 mhz... not sure

edit: 1:1 won't work either... i think what i need to do is lower my temps... and in the mean time update my drivers and bios :D

As long as your temps are ok and you have good case ventilation, then vcore of up to 1.5v should be ok. My LGA775 3.2 hits 3.9 gig with 1.46v.

Increasing the N/B voltage never seemed to help me, so I left it at default.

I know nothing about DDR2 voltages, but I've seen manufacturer's specs that say they support either 1.8v or 1.9v (depending on what brand it is). I would "guess" that 1.9v is "probably" ok.

I found that leaving the PCI-E frequency on auto worked the best for me.

I got a higher O/C when I flashed to the lastest BIOS too.

PC2-5300 is DDR2-667 or in other words should do 333 MHz frequency. But, you might try 1:1 just in case.

real bad ass - you can kick some more to get to 4.0+, but look at temps cause you are on air cooling.

thanks batboy... tzack ya i know, i've been watching them... they're ok for air cooled, but i need to get the temps lower to help my oc. i have flashed my bios to the newest version abit offers, and i will give it another go in just a sec!

results: even after putting an industrial fan blowing in my case (lowering cpu temp to 49 and system temp to 29 degress c) i actually got it to POST, but it wouldnt boot into windows at 4 ghz. and after my attempt, it wouldnt oc at all, so im givin her a rest for the night :-/

From what they have said and is stated at Intel, 1.55Vcore is safe for the LGA chip.

cool :bday:

edit: btw, i've gotten my cpu temps down to 42 degrees c and system temps down to 26 with my industrial fan :D

Boy, those memory speeds don't make up for low latency. Seems like atm you almost need those types of clock on the RAM to even compete with low latency stuff. I'm not trying to thread crap cause it's looking good. But my 3.2 @ 3.8 + BH5 is pulling 32-33secs in PI. Once you hit some higher MHz i think it'll start to come around. Keep it up.

Also you might want to check out the Abit Forum. Cause as of right now they have alot of info about this stuff.

NEW SCREENSHOTS

I'm workin my way up there boys.... I can't wait til i get my wc system ordered! my temps are still good for fan-cooling though....
