Before you smash them.....
send them to me!

Alot of ppl are posting they can't overclock a Duron,
well... avoid your frustration... email me.. and i'll give ya my address.

because i CAN O/C a Duron
wanna know why?

i read! and i use good boards.

now i know y'all think "oh, just get a board and up the FSB and it'll be a 600 @ 1gig"

yeah.

well... thats not the case at all, in fact there is more, much more to it.. and thats why ppl have given their time to write "GUIDES"
ohh, imagine that! LOL
you will find beginner guides on the front page to answer all your questions...
YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND, THEREFORE YOU MUST READ.
there is also an AMD FAQ which has been completed and will be brought to your attention shortly...

and another issue that needs to be addressed...
a crappy board = crappy results, period.
same goes for EVERY other component as well...
so when i read "i got a AZ11 and it won't work"
it's hard for me to even reply... man, you should know why!!

the front page has news, reviews, and news archives where you'll find out how boards perform... find reviews before you buy, and don't buy something the experts have labled "a nightmare for overclockers"

the main key to O/C is common sense... if this can't be applied, then please... just send to me all your stuff...
i'll post my results on it for ya, k :D

that's a New Yorker for ya...LOL. Sometimes we all may feel this way but it never gets public cause we have to be understanding for the many different people that come here. I know when I got my first computer way back in the day I wanted to mess with it and do it as fast as possible. We have to be a like a teacher here and inform people what to do or look in the right direction. Understanding is the key word and put yourself in their shoes. This is myself me understanding and showing you the reason why seniors are who they are.

well... maybe that came off too harsh?

i tried to post additional comments, but it got erased due to a page error... so often the case these days...

it's not that i'm trying to be a richard cranium...
but if a question has been answered it should'nt be re-asked.

now i know there are certain.. many even.. exceptions to this..
but "the pencil trick" c'mon!!

just re-informing that the guides are there...
and those who have no concept, really need to read them.
to save time, money, and endless aggravation, on top of regret!

the seniors do a great job... yes... answering the same question
day after day after day year after years....

i just participated in a FAQ... if nobody bothers to read it, why did i waste the time?

we can say "oh, thats fine, i'll just spend another hour today, as i did each day prior, giving out the same exact answer"

or we can save time on all parties concerned and make sure the basics are handed to everyone to learn from...
the beginner guides! the AMD FAQ!

which... is all my intention was.... awareness and the distrobution of.

I agree with you N2, This is why alot of my posts are telling them to search in the guides before they go any further. This is what WE would do, but not everybody thinks that way. They want it NOW and forget the rest. We are here to point them in the right direction. I have learned things form you and alot other people and the best thing to do is just to contunue your wisdom and we will keep this the best forum on the web!!

and all to often... "NOW and forget the rest" has reaped dead cpu's and ppl wanting to smash em'...

SO PLEASE... if you only wanna reap what you sow...
SEND THEM ALL TO ME FIRST :)
that way... all the chippies will live long happy healthy O/C'd lives

otherwise, it pays to sow your seeds in the beginner guides :D

and you got it Trance.... best forum on the net!

I'm sure many of those who have been here for any length of time, as well as the shorter time members like myself, have felt the same way as you. I too find myself getting a bit of a short fuse at times with people expecting a list of components to purchase and the settings needed to get a 75% overclock. And many times they have a demanding attitude.

Fortunately, most of us are mature enough to have the patience to deal with these requests politely. (most of the time)

I believe that this is a reflection of society as a whole today. Instant gratification has become the rule. I want it, and I want it now! He has it, I deserve it and I want it too! Many times without the required effort to achieve the end result.

Fortunately, I believe that this type of person is easily distracted, they haven't got the patience to stick it out. After they crack a few cores, or burn them up without installing the hsf (just to see if it will post), they'll probably move on to another interest. After all, isn't "Napster" supposed to start back up soon?

My advise is to bear with it, most of these people will get a clue and realize that it's more efficient to do a bit of research first and save the aggravation down the road, with the rest falling by the wayside.

My $.02
