Ok in another thread I talked about how I am killing a generic PSU.

Well I knew that the PSU was going to get over worked so I put a thermal probe behind the PSU fan on the ouside of the case to watch it.

I have another probe on the inside of the case at the front intake fan for the case.

My intake air temp is 23C on average and the exhaust temp of the PSU is 29C

So a 6C increase in temp. I added a second fan to the PSU to give it a bit more air.

Is 29-32C a decent operating temp for a PSU.

This is just an off the wall question. I am just curious. I am sure there are a few guys out there that have an idea on this matter.

That is an average Temp. for Power Supplies. They always run a tad warm since the efficency of converting AC to DC voltage isn't that efficent and thus generates heat as a by product. Though the warmer it runs the less capacity the PSU will have since heat generates resistance. (Which generates more heat, etc. You ever wonder how electrical fires start?)
