quick stupid question
if you OC your GPU do you need to OC the RAM as well ? (or how does one effect the other.)
if I remeber correctly white artifacts or snowing is a product of too high a gpu clock and black artifacts are from too high of a RAM oc.
Im only asking cause my BFG GT (back @1.3V) @ 435 1.14 was giving off all these black splotches in 3DMARK 05 in second and third test?
I lowered the RAM down to 1.12...still there games run fine @ 1.14
tell me its just a driver thing (66.81) or common 3D Mark 05 thing or I should take it down lower

You dont have to overclock both core and memory.Take down the memory to stock speed and see if you still get artifacts.

You don't have to OC one to do the other. It's just common you push both to the max limit to gain that extra couple of percent of performance.

Artifacts on ATI and Nvidia appear quite different. On ATI you do get the snow like effects on the screen. In the case of Nvidia you usually either get strange polygon shapes on the screen or white lines randomly on the screen.

For what you see in 3dmark05 is quite common. It's known better as shimmering. You can get rid of this by changing your image quality setting to Quality or High Quality. Although for benchmarking most people use Performance.
