i know this falls into the category of one of the stickys.
Im just trying to get a ballpark idea here so i can figure out what i need to make this happen. It will be really cool when its done and i'll post pictures and maybe go into what its doing.
Does anyone know if a Fortron 180watt powersupply will be able to support an AMD 1700 system. It will be UNDERCLOCKED to whatever speed holds about 1.2V. It will not be using any video or sound cards(or the integrated). It will be using a good amount of its lan ability and will have one hard drive and 2 sticks of ram. Do you think that this is feasable for will i need to step up to a bigger PSU.
The reason im asking is because i need the smallest PSU possible because this is going to be for a very tight fit mod in a fairly passively cooled system. There will be two very slow spinning 60mm fans. Also do you think this would overheat.
This isn't really a scientific question just out of personal opinion am i pushing it too much?
