Anyway, we have a larger percentage active members than most of the other teams we are competing with, so I guess it isn't that bad afterall...

well I have two accounts, one a mispelling and one was a comp i switched to the one account i fold on. I bet a lot of those are like that. Plus some people just don't like it for some reason. We do really really in participation and all, so I am happy with our team!

My new system's modem died yesterday...I had recently moved my bedroom to another room to devote this room to puters and video gaming. Networked the 2 computers and all was great until the modem died in main system. Dsl modem on its way but not arrived yet. Second system(also folding) has a modem still installed. So decide to redo internet sharing to second system so I could upload my WU's(no isa slots in my system or i'd changed modem over). Well upon shut down the secondary system refuses to boot/post anything except power on. Dunno what happened, but even the spare bios chip wouldn't resurrect the board.(old soyo 5ema+) So put in a yet slightly older board(mvp3 of which no idea who made it) and get the sytem back up and running...but only @400mhz instead of the 500 it is.(no idea how to redo the jumpers to get it right as farr as i can tell they ARE set right....but they obviously aren't.

Well anyway my 700mhz duron@868mhz is running fine but due to network difficulties it can't upload its WU. So I'm only folding on this 500@400 until i figure out why in network neighborhood on my system list both systems, but can't connect to the other. Or why the second system can't see itself nor the other computer in network neighborhood,not connect, BUT CAN find itself (thru find computer)and access its shared drives.

I'm sick of working on puters....it's all ive been doing it seems for the last 2 weeks :(

As far as I can tell the setting in both are identical except for thier names. A friend of more knowledge is coming Monday if i can't work out the problems...

dead modem degressed into a networking problem....go figure....

ya and ive double checked a few times to make sure ;) Network was working FINE when I was internet sharing from the other puter...then its modem died. So we thgought to sysmply switch to this puter for internet sharing. Welll then this systems motherboard died so i swapped in another spare. Now only swapping out motherboard you'd think the networking would ahve been fine since nothing else was changed, but nope ... I figure last resort may be reformat and install on both machines...but i wont do that until next weekend since i have router, dsl modem, and some upgrades for the secondary system on thier way.

Right now im using the built in LAN on main system and a NIC card along with a crossover cable to network. By the time things are settled the reformat may be the only thing to straighten the confused systems out...

I've been folding pretty much 24/7, soon to have a 2nd machine up if all goes well. But the real reason i posted a reply was to say, Silent Bob that is the COOLEST!!! avtar. I hope you know how lucky you are.
