tried dling w/ firefox yet?
i once had a problem similar but much wimpier sounding than this - couldn't save pics in IE - the fix was in clearing out the cache (which made it so IE couldn't think very well, or soemthing...) ^^

I have had the worst buying experience with routers. I wanted to upgrade from my NetGear MR814v2 so that I could host a CS game. Well I tried everything and could not get anyone to see the server on the Internet. I decided to buy a better router. The first one was a DI624. This worked great, it ran my Teamspeak, but still no luck on the CS server. Tech support was awesome and after hours I gave up.
Then I bought a Belkin, the one I purchased was a wireless one but it sucked. It was very tempermental and it did not perform the way I would expect it too. One example is that the settings did not change even though you had activated the function. It did not run any of my applications. It even had pre-programed firmware which would setup popular games. It automatically opened ports for you. I used the CS one and checked it. I could not have configured it better and it still did not work. Bottom line is that I brought that back in a hurry.
Then I ended up with a Lynksys BEFSR81. When the options were set, everything worked like a charm without a hitch. At this point my family have purchased some of their products and they did not last but this one cost me $100.00. It was worth my time to pay a little more and know it would work. This is the router I would recommend.
*As a side note: I know you have done this already but make sure that you have not dld SP2. If so this automatically firewalls your connections. It does not necessarily relate to your issue but it could be part of the problem.

Oh I also forgot to mention that if one computer has been infected with SpyWare and is connected to your network this can cause significant connection issues. Try unplugging the PC's and test them 1 at a time.

^^ ill try that, but this is getting really annoying
FreeLoader, i dont get it that you cant setup a CS server with those routers. I've setup a CS server with some routers, all of them worked fine (SMC, D-Link, Linksys, Netgear, Belkin...). I had that chance at a LAN. Next time, you should buy a router with DMZ support, its easy to config.
capmuffin, tell us more details. Like after you reset the router then you can download for how long b4 it acts up again? To eliminate your Windows problem, try to connect your PC direct to the cable/DSL modem, see if it still happens. Also the router has been like this since you had it?
