Lead memory leader Micron descibes how QDR memory will benefit all computers that need memory speeds behond 200MHz.
With the first modules to be released at 333MHz, QDR-Ram may even be seen as early as spring next year with AMD's 333MHz SOCKET A BUS.

What really will get things moving is that QDR-Ram is ready to run at a internal 133MHz, thats 533MHz Memory speed (4.2GBytes bandwidth!). So if Someone begins to prepare motherboards with duel channel QDR-Ram, look out!

Finally, this isnt AMD related but QDR will hit the graphics card industry in 2003. This will be included in the nVidia Eclispe and ATI R400 products.

It's hard to predict how new technologys will take off, don't write off ddr just yet it's likely to be a while before qdr ram is ready for the masses, just look how long it's taken for ddr boards to get up to speed, these companys have invested far to much to be replacing them this soon.
Graphics cards will likely be using qdr before motherboards

even thou I think QDR is cool, isnt there a ddr2?? or is that QDR?

I'm guessing thats just a marketing ploy for qdr, but like the pentium 2,3 and 4 which aren't technically pentiums as the reason the pentium was so called is that it was a 586, pent being greek or latin or something for 5

(same basic core with a bunch of die shrinking and add-ons like SSE1 and SSE2)

yes and?

the ppro was the first p6 core, so it being called a pentium again is wrong, a misnomer or something like that.

And then following it up with a core designed soley for mhz at the cost of performance

Well it is a memory thread, and why don't you visit the memory forum?
plus if you used the todays posts link then it wouldn't matter what forum it was in.
