View Full Version : Doom 3 slowdown problem

Ok i just went from a 9700pro to this bfg 5900ultra 256mb. The 9700pro did 42fps the the timedemo and this 5900 will only get 30-34fps.

It runs fine in most area's, but when i get certain lighting or firing a weapon it instantly drops to 30fps. Already tried all the doomconfig file tweaks and using forceware 66.93.

Any help would be nice.

Umm, go back to the 9700PRO? I have a 5900 and only get around the same fps as you. The only way that I have found to make it better is to play at the games actual recommended settings.

The card runs awsome except for the slow down in certain spots.

Is it just the card or something i can do to fix it?
